TanzaniaIt currently has a total of 22 national parks managed by the Tanzania National Parks Agency ( TANAPA ).These parks are divided into four main zones to facilitate tourism:

1. Northern Circuit

This is the most popular region for tourists in Tanzania.

• Lake Manyara National Park : Famous for tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos.

• Rubondo Island National Park : Located in Lake Victoria, famous for birding and fishing.

• Saanane Island National Park : Located within the city of Mwanza, it is the smallest park.

• Burigi-Chato National Park : A new park in the northwest with several lakes.

• Ibanda-Kyerwa National Park : Borders Rwanda in northwestern Tanzania.

• Rumanyika-Karagwe National Park : A mountainous and forested area in the north-west.

Note : Although the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a major attraction, it is managed by a separate authority ( NCAA ) and is not a national park under TANAPA. There is also the Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park located in Zanzibar.
