TanzaniaIt currently has a total of 22 national parks managed by the Tanzania National Parks Agency ( TANAPA ).These parks are divided into four main zones to facilitate tourism:

1. Northern Circuit
This is the most popular region for tourists in Tanzania.

Serengeti National Park : World-famous for the great migration of wildebeest and lions.
Tarangire National Park : Known for its large herds of elephants and giant baobab trees.
Lake Manyara National Park : Famous for tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos.
Arusha National Park : Includes Mount Meru and the Ngurdoto crater.
Kilimanjaro National Park : Home to the highest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro.
Mkomazi National Park : A semi-desert environment that shelters black rhinos and wild dogs.

Saanane Island National Park : Located within the city of Mwanza, it is the smallest park.

Ibanda-Kyerwa National Park : Borders Rwanda in northwestern Tanzania.
Rumanyika-Karagwe National Park : A mountainous and forested area in the north-west.

Note : Although the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a major attraction, it is managed by a separate authority ( NCAA ) and is not a national park under TANAPA. There is also the Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park located in Zanzibar.
